Bob Garland Volunteer Award
This award was created in 1994 to recognize volunteers within the Jefferson Swim League who make significant contributions to the League. The award is named after Bob Garland, Jr. who has been involved with the Jefferson Swim League since 1978. He has meticulously served as the custodian of the bylaws, procedures, forms and ribbons for the League since 1983 and continues to serve as a mentor for new members and officers of the JSL Board. His leadership and commitment to the Jefferson Swim League serve as a model of the volunteer spirit that makes the JSL a vibrant and successful organization for swimmers in central Virginia
